Pesticides - Organic Bordo Mix Paste

In our Agriculture for Everybody blog series, we are going to see Organic Bordo Mix Paste which is an organic pest repellent.

Required Ingredients

Method of Preparation
  1. Place the Cow Dung & Cow Urine in a vessel and mix them well.
  2. Pour the Neem Oil into the vessel slowly and stir the contents of the vessel until the Neem Oil is mixed well.
  3. Add the Asafoetida Powder and mix it well.
  4. The Organic Bordo Mix Paste is ready to use.
Note:
  • Please note that the stick (neem stick is better or any pole) used for mixing the ingredients should be cleaned before & after the usage so as to avoid maggots formations in the pesticide.
  • The pesticide should be kept in the shade and covered with a wire mesh or plastic mosquito net to prevent houseflies from laying eggs and the formation of maggots (worms) in the solution.

How to use the Pesticide?
  1. Apply the paste to the stems of Horticultural Plants (for eg., Mango, Pomegranate, Orange trees etc).
When to use the Pesticide?
  1. Generally, the ideal time for applying the paste is during 6 am to 8.30 am and between 4 pm and 6.30 pm.
Which pests are controlled by the Pesticide?
  1. The pesticide is used in controlling downy mildew, powdery mildew and other fungi.

Pesticides - Dashparni Ark

As part of our Agriculture for Everybody blog series,  we are going to see Dashparni Ark.


Required Ingredients

Method of Preparation
  1. Take a 200 Litre vessel (either plastic drum or similar ones).
  2. Pour the Water first.
  3. Submerge all the 10 different leaves in the water.
  4. Pour the Cow Urine and Cow Dung on top of the submerged leaves.
  5. Mix them well and and leave it for 5 days.
  6. On the Sixth Day, add 5-7 litres of water and again mix all the contents in the vessel.
  7. Leave the same as it is for a month.
  8. The Dashparni Ark is ready to use after filtering it.
Method of Storage

  1. The pesticide can be stored for 4 months in good condition.

  1. Spray System - The pesticide can be applied as a foliar spray.
Note:
  • Dilute 125 ml of the pesticide with 10 Litres of water or
  • Dilute 2.5 Litres of the pesticide with 200 Litres of water for One Acre.
